Leisure Time

There are many recreational activities offered at Thule.

In the Fitness and Sports Center you can participate in a variety of individual and team sports. In the winter months there are skiing and sleigh rides, and in the summer you can join hikes or compete in marathon, mountain bike or go-cart races, or even go for a sail. Along with the normal recreational activities there are a number of unusual activities like the Polar Bear Swim where the brave take a swin in the sea.

In the Community Activity Center you will find the Internet café, and you can play pool, billiards, and golf, or use the pinball machines, read, buy a book or rent a DVD. The Center provides free cake, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate during all opening hours.

In the Creativity Room you can make engravings, print T-shirts, and many other things.

In addition, events such as the Greenlandic National Day, Midsummer's Eve, Independence Day (4th of July), Thanksgiving (last Thursday in November), Christmas, and New Year are celebrated. Many of the events and activities are organized by the Activities department and most of them are free of charge.
